Touching Legends of the Quản Bạ Twin Mountains
While the Quản Bạ Twin Mountains are a natural masterpiece, human imagination can explain anything. And indeed, this mountain is rich with moving legends, passed down through generations by the local people. If you visit Hà Giang and this site, you're sure to hear these stories from the locals themselves.

The story goes that long ago, in this mountainous region, there lived a handsome H'Mông young man who played the lip organ beautifully. His melodies echoed through the mountains and soared to the heavens, captivating the heart of Hoa Đào, a fairy. She descended to the mortal world and married him. However, soon after their adorable baby boy was born, she was summoned back to heaven. Hoa Đào pleaded with the Jade Emperor to stay and raise her child, but he refused. Out of profound love for her infant who longed for milk, she left her breasts behind in the mortal realm. Thanks to this, the baby grew up quickly. Later, the fairy Hoa Đào's breasts transformed into the Twin Mountains we see today.

The Quản Bạ Twin Mountains are linked to many legends.
Locals also share another legend about the Quản Bạ Twin Mountains, one that moves many travelers on Hà Giang tours. This is the tale of a giant who fell in love with a beautiful girl from this land. Driven by his love, he traversed many high peaks and deep valleys to reach her. However, to win her hand, the young man had to pass a challenge set by her family: he had to stop the Đông Hà River from flowing backwards into the valley where her family lived.
Day and night, the giant carried mountains to build a dam against the Đông Hà River's flow. However, while he was working, he heard news of his mother's passing. He rushed back to mourn her and never returned. The young woman would go out daily to observe the giant's unfinished work. After waiting for too long, she eventually transformed into the Twin Mountains we see today. These poignant stories are recounted by the locals to their children and to visitors on Hà Giang tours, serving as a heartfelt reminder of the warm human spirit in this frontier region of the Fatherland.
